Minamalas

I really like this song and the video by Mojofly. Very upbeat tune for a song that's supposed to be about bad luck.

What's in a Nimh

I recently watched "The Secret of Nimh." The last time I watched it was when I was in Grade School. Still very beautiful, still very gripping but not as scary as when I first watched it.

Virtual Town

In the small town of Dewberry, there lives a boy named Tenzil who has discovered the beauty of living in a small untouched area filled with animals of all kinds. Now and then, he leaves that town to visit the "real world."

For the past months, I have immersed myself in the game "Animal Crossing." Right after work, I rush home, connnect The Cube to the TV set and begin a new journey into the 1st non-violent "RPG" I have ever enjoyed. I have neglected real people, born of flesh and blood to be with pixellated creations borne out of the mind of a genius.

I don't care. I'm enjoying myself.

The game plays like SIMS, although instead of people you interact with animals with varied personalities. The worst would prolly be Petunia, a self-absorbed superficial purple cow who makes the nastiest remarks and creates rumors about you. There really is no goal or end to the game. There are just different activities that you experience as the year progresses. For example, when I first got the game it was winter (since it follows real time), and snow covered not just the trees but even the ground and the roofs of the town's houses. Recently, the snow has melted, spring has begun to show and it even rains now and then over Dewberry.

I have started upgrading my house and like in real life (in my room at least), it's filled with a lot of junk, some of which I don't really need. One of my favorite possessions is my NES, which has two games (Pinball and Excite Bike). My character (Tenzil) can play these games and when he does, the screen shows the actual classic games and allows me to play them directly. Initially, I had to get a job to earn money to pay for the house that I bought, but afterwards selling some items you get from your neighbors would be more profitable.

Last Sunday, there was even a Spring Sports Fair where the animals competed against each other. Every Saturday evening, a traveling musician visits Dewberry and plays different songs. His name is K.K. and he reminds me of Simon Adriano for some strange reason. My sister has become addicted as well and she lives in the same town as me. It's funny because everytime my Mom or Dad leaves their room, they see us staring at the TV screen, oblivious to our surroundings.

The addiction seems harmless... the effects not so. I stay home Saturday nights just to get a recording of K.K.'s songs, as that is the only time he visits. The game has ruled my life... and I'm not resisting at all...

Beans, Beans and Beans

Another game that I recently got addicted to is "Dr. Robotnik's Mean Bean Machine." The only problem is that the game's too tough! I can't get past Level 3, let alone Level 2 on a bad day.

Players

Can a player change its spots? I've been dating for more than a month and each day, I'm more convinced that I am dating a player. If the player wants to play, just say so, so that emotions aren't invested anymore. Don't say that you're ready to commit and that you want us to get married barely one month after meeting you. I feel like I'm setting myself up for a fall.

Sleepless in Boston

I got to chat with Cathy again this morning. She has a problem and I have to agree it's a doozy. I really miss my best friend. She's celebrating her birthday soon and there's nothing more I would want to do that day then to make her feel like she's the most special person in the world.

Why?

Because she is.

Other News

Ana also texted and said that we have to get together soon, she mentioned that a lot has happened to her in the past 2 months. Somehow, I sense that the news isn't pretty. I hope that she's okay.

James is well again, glad that it wasn't too serious. He passed by last Sunday and consulted with my dad but I was still sleeping then.

Dein is having his operation today. I hope that all goes well.

I'm really blessed with my teammates. They just don't know how much they mean to me.

Joy and Tesma got promoted. Well-deserved! Joy got me a really delish chocolate cake which I shared with Kay.

Carla also got promoted and that really made me happy. Mostly because it made her happy and I was touched that I was able to share in that.

Joey has a new girlfriend. Not really new but I just found out about it recently. She's German.

I've been promising Yeng and Trix that we would go out to catch up on stuff.

I've been promising my College blockmates that we would go out to catch up and stuff.

I've been promising my College orgmates that we would go out to catch up and stuff.

I can't believe the 1st quarter of 2005 is almost over...
